Mr. Jensen, K-4th Grade Physical Education Teacher
I became a physical education teacher because not only do I enjoy being active, but I enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and teaching others that being physically active can be fun! Motivation to make a difference in my community and work with the next generation of students was also one of my main reasons for becoming a teacher. The professional environment and welcoming atmosphere at Stone are some of the biggest things that drew me here, along with the diverse community of motivated young learners that I am able to work with.
In addition to the reasons above, I believe that Stone is the best fit for me because it is full of dedicated staff, teachers, and students that are all working towards building a better community and future for everyone that is involved in it. When I received my job offer I was ecstatic and excited to get started, and that excitement has not dwindled.
Mr. Melanis, Physical Education Teacher.
As a member of the Stone team, I am constantly energized by the endless opportunities of working with students and colleagues of diverse backgrounds. Stone Academy is an academic setting that raises the bar to assure that we are providing an optimal learning experience to each and every student.
I have chosen a career as a physical and health education teacher because I believe that education is perhaps the most important entity in a child's development. I enjoy encouraging and modeling a healthy, active lifestyle for students and teaching them how to make positive choices that support lifelong wellness. I also enjoy teaching students goals to never give up, have good sportsmanship, promote collaboration, and an emphasis on looking at challenges as learning opportunities. Working alongside such stellar professionals at Stone is an encouraging and supportive experience, that consistently fuels my passion to be an exceptional teacher, leader, and colleague.
